EA Sports FC 27 is closing in fast, and this year’s rollout brings a firm release calendar plus two of the biggest feature additions the series has made in years. Whether you’re planning to log in the moment servers go live or you’re stocking up on Steam Wallet Code (US) credit to grab the Ultimate Edition early, here’s what’s confirmed so far: release dates, platform coverage, the new open-world mode, the Hall of FUT card tier, and the ratings reveal that’s already got fans talking.

Release Schedule

Early access begins September 18, 2026, exclusively for players who pick up the Ultimate Edition. That gives Ultimate Edition owners a full week’s head start before the complete worldwide launch on September 25, 2026, when EA Sports FC 27 becomes available to everyone.

The game is launching across six platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, and iOS. Feature availability isn’t identical across all of them, so it’s worth confirming what your platform supports before assuming full parity, particularly around Ultimate Team and the new open-world content. Players on PC can lock in the Ultimate Edition through the official Steam pre-purchase page, while Xbox owners getting their console ready for launch week may want to check what their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (US) subscription currently covers, since it bundles EA Play access to a wide range of EA titles.

What's New: Hall of FUT and Open World

The open-world mode marks one of the most ambitious changes EA Sports FC 27 has made, described by EA as a significant expansion beyond the series’ traditional modes. Full details on how it ties into career mode and Ultimate Team are still emerging, but it signals a shift toward a more open, exploratory way to play outside of scripted matches.

Ultimate Team is getting its own headline addition: Hall of FUT, a new card rarity tier built to spotlight legendary players from across FC and FIFA history. It sits alongside the existing Ultimate Team card system as a way to bring iconic names from past eras into squads built around this year’s roster.

On the pitch, EA has already confirmed two of the game’s highest-rated cards at launch: Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe both debut at 91 overall, tying them as the top-rated players revealed so far. EA has also said the first post-launch balance updates won’t bring significant gameplay changes, so the launch experience should stay consistent through the opening weeks. PlayStation 5 players covering their day-one purchase or restocking Ultimate Team packs can use a PSN Gift Card (US) to keep funds ready.
