Graveyard Keeper 2 Launches With an Undead Army and a Much Bigger World to Manage

Lazy Bear Games and publisher tinyBuild launched Graveyard Keeper 2 on September 22, 2026, simultaneously on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It was a big day one on PC alone — the game peaked at over 54,000 concurrent players on Steam — and the sequel adds a genuinely new layer on top of the original’s dark-comedy management sim.

From Graveyard Management to Zombie Warfare

This time you’re playing as the Grand Inquisitor rather than the original’s nameless caretaker, and the scope has grown well past tending plots and processing bodies. Alongside the familiar graveyard upkeep and production-chain automation, Graveyard Keeper 2 adds town restoration quests, zombie workers you recruit into your growing settlement, and a genuine combat layer where you gather biological and human materials to build machinery, towers, and fortifications — then lead an undead army into battle against the zombie apocalypse threatening the region. It’s still recognizably the same irreverent, grotesque sense of humor the first game built its cult following on; there’s just a lot more to actually do with it now.

Reception So Far

Early reception is strong: Graveyard Keeper 2 sits at Very Positive on Steam, with 87% of its first 1,236 user reviews recommending it. It’s priced at $24.99 on its own, or as part of The Grave Deal bundle with the original Graveyard Keeper for $23.18. The developers have described the story as having “grown alongside its creators,” and early player feedback backs that up — most of the praise so far is landing on how naturally the new combat and town-building systems fold into the management loop rather than feeling bolted on.
