Intravenous 3: Borderline, a free standalone prologue to the full Intravenous 3, is out now as of October 2, 2026. Developed by Explosive Squat Games and published by HypeTrain Digital, it gives players an early, no-cost look at the tactical stealth series’ next chapter well before the full game arrives. What's in the Free Prologue
Borderline follows mercenary Gideon across two complete missions, giving players “an early look at the new gameplay direction” for the sequel. True to the series, it leans on tense stealth action and tactical, hardcore gunplay, with missions and story that shift based on how aggressively or carefully you choose to play. The prologue grew out of a one-week public playtest that let players try one of its two missions ahead of the full release, with developer feedback collected through a dedicated Discord thread.
Meet Gideon, and What It Means for Intravenous 3
The full Intravenous 3 is targeting a Q2 2027 release and will alternate between the perspectives of two characters, Steve and Sean, as they attempt to survive a relentless manhunt. Borderline is a separate, standalone piece of that story centered on Gideon rather than a slice of the Steve-and-Sean campaign, which makes it a genuine side dish rather than a cut-down demo of the main course.
A Series Built on Player-Driven Missions
The Intravenous series has built its reputation on stealth, tactical gunplay, and missions shaped by the way you actually play rather than a single scripted path through each level, and Borderline is clearly meant to carry that identity forward into the sequel. If you have not played the earlier games, Intravenous 2 is available on PC and is the most direct way to catch up before Borderline’s story and the eventual full Intravenous 3 release.
