After years of anticipation and two previous delays, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have reconfirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is on track to launch on November 19, 2026. The date was first locked in during Take-Two’s February 2026 earnings call, and as recently as September, Rockstar co-founder Rob Nelson told Famitsu the studio is still holding that release window, even after the project slipped from an earlier 2025 target and a rumored mid-2026 window.

Two Delays Down, One Date Holding

Grand Theft Auto VI was never officially promised for 2025, but early marketing and a flood of leaked footage back in 2023 fueled speculation that Rockstar would hit that window regardless. When Take-Two later pushed the game into 2026, fans braced for another slip. Instead, the publisher has doubled down twice now: its most recent guidance still points squarely at November 19, with full marketing, including new trailers, gameplay reveals, and press events, expected to intensify over the next two weeks.

What We Know About Platforms and Price

Grand Theft Auto VI is confirmed for PlayStation 5 at launch, with current reporting pointing to a PC version arriving sometime after the console release rather than day one, which is consistent with how Rockstar handled the PC rollout for both Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Pricing is expected to land around $79.99 in the US and £69.99 in the UK, in line with current-generation AAA pricing. Rockstar has not yet detailed special or collector’s editions, though more specifics are expected as marketing ramps up ahead of launch.

Getting Ready for Vice City

Grand Theft Auto VI returns the series to a reimagined Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida, following protagonists Lucia and Jason through what Rockstar is calling its most ambitious open world yet. With the release date now just two weeks out, anticipation across the gaming community is reaching a fever pitch, and pre-order activity for digital wallets and gift cards is already climbing as players make sure their accounts are funded and ready the moment the servers go live.

Stock Up Before Launch Day

If Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t quite ready yet, Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced is still one of the best ways to get a taste of Rockstar’s open-world chaos ahead of the sequel. And whichever platform you land on come November 19, it is worth topping up now with a Steam Wallet Code (US) or a PSN Gift Card (US) so your balance is ready for launch day, whatever Rockstar announces between now and then.
