Sea of Thieves Season 21 has been live since September 17, 2026, and Rare is running one of its busiest event calendars of the year to go with it, capped off by a Gold & Glory weekend that runs through September 28.
The Parley Pennant Signals Peace (But Doesn't Guarantee It)
The season’s standout addition is the Parley Pennant, a new permanent ship flag that signals peaceful intentions to other crews. It is worth being clear-eyed about what it actually does: it is only a signal, not a protection mechanic, and another crew can ignore the pennant or attack anyway. During the Talk Like a Pirate Day event window from September 17 to 22, players who raised the pennant and sailed up to three other ships could unlock the exclusive Parley Proficiency Sails.
A Season Pass Built Around Mutiny's Mark
Season 21’s premium track is built around the Mutiny’s Mark cosmetic collection, with a Star Prize waiting at level 50 of the free pass for players who don’t buy in. Rare also refreshed the Outpost shop rotation and brought back the fan-favorite Bleakheart Groom cosmetic for players who missed it the first time around.
Custom Seas Keeps Growing
Beyond the seasonal content, Rare continues to expand its free Custom Seas toolset, which lets players tune rules for their own private sessions.
