Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Launches October 14, Taking the Retro FPS Back Into the Grimdark

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 launches October 14, 2026 on PC via Steam. Developed by Auroch Digital and published by Devolver Digital and Big Fan Games, the sequel picks up directly from the end of the original Boltgun and pushes the retro boomer-shooter formula further into the grimdark.
Two Playable Heroes, One Branching Campaign
For the first time in the series, players choose between two protagonists: Ultramarine Malum Caedo, returning from the first game, and Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath, a new addition with her own abilities, weapons, and playstyle. The single-player campaign branches based on who you pick, sending you across new worlds and biomes that range from a hive city to a mangrove jungle — a notable visual departure from the first game's industrial settings.
A Bigger Arsenal, New Enemies
The Space Marine arsenal expands with additions like a chainsword and shotgun alongside returning favorites, and the bestiary grows too: Bloodletters and daemonic Juggernauts join the fray as new threats to mow through. Quality-of-life additions include a navigation guide to cut down on backtracking confusion, full controller support, and Steam Achievements.
Where to Play It
Boltgun 2 is Windows-only at launch, with no Mac or Linux build listed. Full requirements and trailers are on the official Steam store page.
