Age of Empires IV: Raiders of the North Launches October 29, Bringing Vikings and Scots to Crucible Mode

Age of Empires IV: Raiders of the North, the newest expansion for World's Edge and Relic Entertainment's real-time strategy game, launches October 29, 2026 on PC via Steam, published by Xbox Game Studios at $19.99. The expansion adds two new civilizations and a wave of new Crucible Mode content.
Two New Civilizations: Vikings and Scots
The Vikings are a raid-focused civilization built around fast melee infantry, early naval strength, and a Longhouse-based economy, with heroic Sagas providing unique bonuses through the game. The Scots play the opposite role: a defensive civilization with disciplined infantry and fortified defenses, running a food economy built on Highland cattle and fishponds, and a Mustering Hall that lets players choose between Highland or Lowland force compositions.
Crucible Mode Expands Again
Crucible Mode — Age of Empires IV's roguelite-style mission format — gets four new missions alongside new Boons, Perks, and Mutators, plus civilization-specific Talent Tracks for deeper build customization. It can be played solo or in two-player co-op. The expansion also adds two new biomes, Scottish Heathland and Tundra Summer, for both Crucible and standard skirmish maps.
Price and Where to Get It
Raiders of the North is priced at $19.99 as an expansion for Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition. Full details are on the official Steam store page for the expansion, or the base game's Steam page if you don't already own Age of Empires IV.
