Gears of War: E-Day Season 1 Patch Rebalances Weapons and Raises Horde Siege Difficulty

Gears of War: E-Day, The Coalition’s prequel chronicling the original Emergence Day attack, launched October 6, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass, following an early access window that opened October 1. The game’s Season 1 update is already live, retuning weapons and overhauling Horde Siege difficulty just days after launch.

Weapon Tuning: Hammerburst and Gnasher Buffed, Lancer Nerfed
The Season 1 patch buffs the Hammerburst’s damage along with the Gnasher’s aimed-down-sight damage at range and its hipfire consistency, while trimming the Lancer Mk1 and Vulcan’s damage, the Snub’s rate of fire, and the Gut-Puncher’s spare ammo. The Prototype Lancer’s damage was also reset to a value between its two beta-weekend states, and strafe responsiveness was improved while Cover Slip speed and slide distance were pulled back.

Horde Siege Gets Harder, PC Gets New Tools
Horde Siege’s Invasion and Commander/Allfather difficulties were increased alongside equipment costs, while Weapon Part rewards from invasions and stockpiles were trimmed and Squad Perks now cost more Energy. On PC, the patch adds an FOV slider, improved HDR calibration, unlimited frame-rate caps, optional multi frame generation, and Advanced Shader Delivery to cut shader-compile stutter — AMD support lands at launch, with NVIDIA support to follow later in October.

Price and Where to Play
E-Day is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, and is included with Xbox Game Pass from day one. Check the official Steam store page for full system requirements and the latest patch notes.
