Gears of War: E-Day Launches October 6 on PC and Xbox, Bringing Marcus Fenix’s First Stand Against the Locust

Gears of War: E-Day launches October 6, 2026 on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S, with Premium Edition pre-order buyers already into their five-day early access window as of October 1. Notably absent from the platform list: PlayStation 5. This one is staying Xbox and PC only.
A Prequel Set 14 Years Before the Trilogy
E-Day rewinds the series to the day the Locust Horde first surfaced, following a younger Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the emergence catches the COG off guard. Expect the same cinematic, cover-heavy campaign structure the series is known for, alongside multiple multiplayer modes at launch.
Editions and Pricing
The Standard Edition runs $69.99, while the Premium Edition ($99.99) bundles five-day early access, a weapon pack, extra customization items, and 1,000 Iron. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can grab a Premium Edition Upgrade for $29.99. Collectors willing to spend $299.99 can pick up the Collector’s Edition, which includes a statue, replica metal COG tags, a steelbook case, and an art print. Everyone who pre-orders gets the Exfil Dom character skin and a matching weapon skin set.
Day One on Xbox Game Pass
As with recent first-party Xbox releases, E-Day is available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so subscribers can jump in October 6 without buying the game outright. If you’d rather pay for the subscription itself or top up for the Premium Edition on Steam, an Xbox Game Pass Membership (Global), Xbox Live Gift Card (US), or Steam Wallet Code (US) all cover it.
