Minecraft Dungeons II, the follow-up to Mojang Studios and Double Eleven’s 2020 action-RPG, launches September 29, 2026 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It is a day-one addition to Xbox Game Pass, and Mojang says you do not need to have played the original to jump straight into the sequel.

What's Actually New

The headline addition is a new dimension called the Sift, alongside an expanded weapon system and a wider variety of enemies than the first game. Mojang is promising more ways to customize your loadout and playstyle build-to-build, while keeping the co-op focus that defined the original — up to four players can team up to fight through new missions, new enemies, and all-new areas. The studio describes it as building on "the weapons, enemies, and features of the first Minecraft Dungeons" rather than reinventing the format outright.

Pre-Order Perks and Cross-Progression

Early buyers get the Twisted cape, a Twisted Chicken pet, and two hero skins. Players who own both Minecraft Dungeons games also unlock a Hero Cape usable in Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition through cross-progression, giving returning players a reason to grab the sequel even if they’re not deep into the first game’s endgame.

Where to Buy

You can wishlist Minecraft Dungeons II now on its official Steam store page. On PC, a Steam Wallet Code (US) covers the purchase directly, or if you’d rather play it through Game Pass day one, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (US) subscription gets you in at launch. Switch and Switch 2 players can browse our full range of Nintendo gift cards and codes to fund the eShop purchase instead.
