Marvel Rivals Season 10 Tier List: Best Heroes After the Gorr Balance Patch

Marvel Rivals Season 10 went live on September 11, 2026, headlined by a new playable villain, Gorr the God Butcher, and one of the wider balance patches the game has had in a while — touching heroes across all three roles. If you’re jumping back in for the new season, here’s who is actually worth climbing with right now.
S-Tier Vanguards: Where Every Match Starts

Doctor Strange comes out of the patch faster and scarier: his Daggers of Denak throw quicker, his projectile charges are up, and his Hulk team-up cooldown dropped from 8 seconds to 6. Rogue gets a straight survivability boost, with her damage reduction in Defensive Stance rising to 60% and her Regenerative Shield capacity up to 275. Captain America jumps to 350 health with vibranium damage falloff removed entirely, making him far harder to punish at range.

Peni Parker rounds out the Vanguard S-tier with reduced firing intervals and cooldowns across her kit, a quiet but meaningful buff that lets her control space more aggressively than before. All four are considered first-pick material for solo-queue climbing this patch.
S-Tier Duelist: Wolverine Stands Alone

Wolverine is the only Duelist ranked S-tier this patch, backed by broad damage and ability improvements that reinforce his identity as a relentless dive threat. If you want a Duelist that wins fights on its own without needing a coordinated setup, he’s the pick.
The New Guy: Gorr the God Butcher
Despite his size, Gorr plays as a 4-star-difficulty Duelist built around a dive-and-brawler style rather than pure tanking. His kit revolves around a shape-shifting Necrosword and summonable Black Berserkers: All-Black is a four-strike sword combo, Living Abyss surges him forward while leaving a Berserker behind, Black Berserker summons symbiote minions to harass enemies, Shadow Harvest teleports him to his Berserkers and converts them into bonus health, and his ultimate, Twilight of the Gods, transforms his sword into the Annihilablade. The recommended approach is to place minions strategically, use Living Abyss to get into the backline, then coordinate Berserker attacks with Necro-Power before committing. His Ragnarök team-up with Hela swaps his sword for a longer-range Scythe form that hits harder from further out — a strong pick in Thor/Hela-centric Asgard compositions.
A-Tier and B-Tier: Everything Else Worth Running
A-Tier: Storm (Vanguard); Daredevil and Iron Fist (Duelist); Jubilee, Rocket Raccoon, and Loki (Strategist). B-Tier: Namor (Vanguard); Star-Lord and Thor (Duelist); Scarlet Witch post-rework, Ultron, Groot, and Psylocke (Strategist/Vanguard mix). Scarlet Witch in particular got a full kit rework this patch, including a new Scarlet Hex ability and a passive that converts damage into health — she’s worth relearning from scratch rather than judging on her old kit.
Who's Sitting This Patch Out
Magneto took a real hit, dropping to 600 health with reduced shield values, and The Thing and The Hood were both nerfed alongside him — all three are considered bench-tier for now. On the Duelist side, Black Cat lost her invincibility window in favor of a flat 50% damage reduction, Black Widow’s ultimate got more expensive, and Elsa Bloodstone and Winter Soldier both lost damage or utility. Strategists didn’t escape either: Cloak & Dagger, Luna Snow, Mantis, and Ultron all saw their healing output trimmed, which is part of why the Strategist tier list leans so heavily on Jubilee, Rocket Raccoon, and Loki right now.
Getting Ready to Climb
Marvel Rivals stays free-to-play on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, so most seasonal spending goes toward the Season 10 Battle Pass and Gorr’s cosmetics. A Steam Wallet Code (US) covers Lattice purchases on PC, while console players can use a PSN Gift Card (US) or browse our full range of Xbox gift cards.
