XLGAMES has launched ArcheAge Chronicles into Steam Early Access as of November 3, 2026, priced at $29.99 in North America with regional pricing elsewhere. The release rebuilds the long-running ArcheAge name in Unreal Engine 5, giving the sandbox MMORPG series its biggest technical overhaul yet.

A Fresh Start for the ArcheAge Name

ArcheAge Chronicles arrives with real momentum behind it. A free demo during October’s Steam Next Fest ranked fifth among Steam’s most-played demos for the event, with players praising the UE5 visuals, the parry-and-cancel combat system, and the game’s PvP. Executive producer Yongjin Ham said the team plans to keep “incorporating your valuable feedback into regular updates throughout Early Access,” positioning the demo’s reception as a direct input into post-launch patches.

What's in Early Access

At launch, Early Access includes three regions, four classes, and eight weapons, two per class. Warriors fight with Longsword and Greatsword, leaning on parries and counters; Rangers choose between the mobile, melee-focused Hatchet or the kiting, lockdown-oriented Longbow; Berserkers bring crowd control and bleed effects with the Axe or slow, heavy-hitting slams with the Warhammer; and Mages split between the ranged artillery of the Elemental Staff and the melee spellblade style of the Wavesword. Beyond combat, the Early Access build includes dungeons, raids, housing, crafting, trading, and company and guild activities.

The Road to Full Release

XLGAMES says full release will expand the game further with additional regions, gender options, a third weapon path per class, combat balance passes, deeper character progression, and expanded life skills, with Early Access expected to run roughly nine to twelve months before that 1.0 launch. Anyone picking the game up now also gets the Dawn Pioneer Set, a pre-order costume bonus for a class of their choice, claimable in-game at launch.
