Dune: Awakening’s Singleplayer Mode Arrives September 22 With a Full Solo Campaign

Funcom is adding a full singleplayer mode to Dune: Awakening on September 22, 2026, letting players experience all of Arrakis without ever touching another player’s server. The update lands alongside the game’s console debut on PS5 and Xbox.
Built for Solo Play, Not a Watered-Down Multiplayer
Singleplayer offers three preset difficulty levels, or full manual customization of individual settings like experience gain rate, enemy difficulty, and harvesting speed. Deep Desert base-building also changes for the better solo: instead of multiplayer’s weekly total wipe, the Coriolis Storm becomes “less destructive,” meaning bases need repairs rather than complete rebuilds each week.
A Complete Story and a Simulated Endgame
The final chapter of the Book One story becomes available in singleplayer, letting players experience the narrative from beginning to end solo for the first time. The Landsraad competitive endgame system still exists too — it simulates other players engaging with the faction conflict, keeping that layer of the game alive without needing real opponents. Singleplayer characters stay exclusive to that mode, though other server types allow character mobility with specific limitations.
