CD Projekt Red’s free remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt arrives September 29, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Every existing owner gets upgraded automatically at no cost, DLC included.

A Free Upgrade, Both Expansions Included

Anyone who already owns The Witcher 3 receives the remaster free of charge, and that upgrade bundles both previously paid expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, at no extra cost. It is one of the more generous remaster rollouts of the year, effectively turning a nine-year-old purchase into a fully current-gen package overnight.

Path Tracing, a New Skill Tree, and a Combat Overhaul

On the technical side, the remaster adds path tracing, ray tracing improvements, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and native DX12 support. Combat has been reworked with new finisher animations and reworked Witcher sign effects, and traversal gets modified climbing mechanics for smoother movement through Velen and Novigrad. A new skill tree, expanded photo mode, transmogrification for mixing item stats with visuals, cross-platform mod support, refined animations, an updated UI, and accessibility improvements round out the package, alongside exclusive features for Nintendo Switch 2 (the original Switch is not receiving this update).

Where to Play It

The current edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on Steam, ahead of the free remaster landing September 29. A Steam Wallet Code (US) is the fastest way to grab it before the upgrade drops, and our RPG game codes and PlayStation Network gift card categories cover console players too.
