Escape From Playtime, the co-op horror spin-off from the creators of Poppy Playtime, left its open beta behind and launched into Steam Early Access on October 21, 2026. Developed by Mob Entertainment, the game swaps Poppy Playtime’s solo exploration for a team-based escape built around a crumbling, ever-shifting toy factory.

A Factory Full of Failed Experiments

Up to four players team up to scavenge tools and parts needed to force open an escape route, all while the factory’s failed toy experiments hunt them down. The layout reshuffles between runs, so coordination and communication matter more than memorizing a fixed map — no two escapes play out the same way twice.

From Open Beta to Early Access

The launch caps off a short but deliberate rollout: an open beta ran on PC through October 5, giving players a first look at the factory before the full Early Access build went live on October 21. Mob Entertainment has framed Escape From Playtime as a standalone spin-off rather than a numbered sequel, letting it experiment with the asymmetric, team-based format that games like We Were Here Tomorrow have also leaned into this month.

Gearing Up for the Escape

If you’re diving into the factory with a full squad, now’s a good time to top up your library for the rest of this week’s co-op horror wave.
