FFXIV Patch 7.5 Job Tier List: The Best Tanks, Healers, and DPS in the Dawntrail Meta

Patch 7.5 wraps up the back half of the Dawntrail story and brings a fresh round of job balance changes along with it. With San d’Oria’s alliance raid, the Meso Terminal dungeon, and a new Crystalline Conflict season all live, here’s how every job stacks up right now for raiding, Mythic-equivalent content, and general progression.
Tanks
S-Tier: Warrior, Paladin · A-Tier: Dark Knight, Gunbreaker
Warrior remains an absurdly stable tank with huge self-sustain and a smooth learning curve, making it the easiest tank to pick up and still perform well on. Paladin is the utility tank of choice for most static groups, offering strong party support on top of its own survivability. Dark Knight and Gunbreaker are both perfectly viable, but they demand tighter execution and planning to get the same mileage.

Healers
S-Tier: White Mage, Sage · A-Tier: Scholar, Astrologian
Patch 7.5 included healer potency increases across the board, which helps every healer’s overall feel and output. White Mage is the comfort pick for most players, while Sage matches it at the top. Scholar and Astrologian rank just behind for progression specifically, since their mitigation tools help prevent wipes in a way White Mage’s kit doesn’t match as directly.

Melee DPS
S-Tier: Ninja, Viper · A-Tier: Reaper · B-Tier: Monk, Dragoon, Samurai
Ninja brings strong raid utility on top of solid damage, while Viper sits right alongside it at the top of the melee pack. Reaper is one of the safest melee jobs to main thanks to an intuitive rotation that’s hard to mess up. Monk, Dragoon, and Samurai are all more sensitive to fight design and execution, which keeps them a notch below the others without making them bad picks.

Physical and Magical Ranged DPS
Physical — S-Tier: Dancer · A-Tier: Bard · B-Tier: Machinist
Magical — S-Tier: Black Mage, Summoner · A-Tier: Red Mage · B-Tier: Pictomancer
Dancer stands out as one of the best overall jobs to main because its damage contribution scales with how well the rest of the party plays. Summoner is one of the most accessible S-tier mains in the entire job list, with a clear rotation and high mobility, while Black Mage delivers unmatched raw damage potential for players willing to learn precise positioning and fight timing. Machinist and Pictomancer round out their respective groups with straightforward, lower-ceiling kits that are still perfectly playable.
