One Killer, Four Survivors, One Night in Haddonfield
Developer IllFonic — the studio behind Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds — has launched Halloween: The Game, an asymmetrical multiplayer horror title based on John Carpenter’s 1978 film. One player takes on Michael Myers while four others play residents of Haddonfield, Illinois trying to survive the night, protect NPC neighbors, and find a way out. A single-player campaign told from Michael’s perspective ships alongside the multiplayer mode.
Early Reception
The game launched with early access for Deluxe Edition buyers four days ahead of the standard release and currently sits at a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, with roughly 72% positive reviews across more than 3,000 user write-ups. Early feedback praises the atmosphere and the feel of playing as Michael Myers, while some reviewers flag technical issues and rough edges that are typical of a day-one asymmetrical horror launch.
