Phantom Blade Zero Launches October 29 on PS5 and PC After Topping Steam’s Pre-Order Charts

S-Game’s long-awaited Phantom Blade Zero finally arrives October 29 on PlayStation 5 and PC, capping off a development cycle that stretches back to its 2023 reveal. The wuxia-inspired action game has spent months climbing Steam’s charts well before launch.

A Donnie Yen-Led Action Soulslike

Phantom Blade Zero casts martial arts star Donnie Yen as its lead, built around fast, acrobatic combat and action-platforming through a stylized version of ancient China. An 11-minute gameplay trailer shared via a PlayStation State of Play showed off the game’s combat chaining and environment traversal, and S-Game has billed the showcase as the completion of the game’s development.

Steam Pre-Orders Are Already Breaking Records

Phantom Blade Zero hit #1 on Steam’s sales chart on pre-orders alone, and reporting around its pre-order window put it past 300,000 copies sold on Steam before launch day, with more than 3 million wishlists logged. For a new IP from a Chinese studio without a major publisher’s marketing budget behind it, that’s a notable showing heading into launch weekend.

Get Ready for Launch Day

If stylish, punishing action games are your thing, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance PC is in stock now and makes a solid stopgap while Phantom Blade Zero finishes downloading. Since the game also launches on PS5, a PlayStation Network gift card is the easiest way to top up your wallet for day-one DLC, and the broader Steam category covers the PC release.
