PUBG Update 43.1 Hits Consoles September 17 With a Jujutsu Kaisen Crossover and New Combat Actions
Console Players Get Their Turn at Update 43.1
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 43.1 lands on Xbox and PlayStation on September 17, 2026, a week after the patch went live on PC on September 10. The console rollout brings the full package: a story-driven Jujutsu Kaisen crossover, a handful of new combat actions that change how fights play out, a fresh ranked season, and hitbox adjustments meant to close the gap with mouse-and-keyboard precision.
A Jujutsu Kaisen Crossover Built Into Erangel
Rather than bolting on a cosmetic shop tab, KRAFTON has woven the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration into the map itself. Erangel now features character displays, special vending machines, themed billboards, and interactive Jujutsu Kaisen boxes scattered across familiar landmarks. Playing the mode and completing objectives earns cosmetic rewards tied to fan-favorite characters like Yuji Itadori and Satoru Gojo, along with progressive weapon skins for the M24, VSS, Beryl M762, and Pan that unlock in stages as players rack up matches.
New Combat Actions Change the Fight
Update 43.1 also introduces four new combat actions. Kicking lets players throw standing or jump kicks that deal more damage and knockback than a punch, and can break environmental objects or force open doors. Water Combat allows handguns and throwables to be used while floating, though with a wider bullet spread and hip-fire only. Equipment Carrying lets players transport ammo, attachments, and healing items without eating into inventory space, and Ground Item Usage means healing supplies and deployables can be activated straight off the ground.
On the balance side, LMGs take a hit this patch: ADS transition time is longer, spawn rates for the RPD and M249 are cut by 30%, and vehicle damage multipliers have been removed entirely.
Ranked Season 43, Duo Rumble, and Tech Upgrades
Ranked Season 43 launched alongside the patch with expanded leaderboards tracking victories, weapon kills, and Clan XP. PC players also got Duo Rumble on September 12, a five-Saturday event series with rewards climbing as high as 10,000 G-Coin. Under the hood, PC support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.1 should smooth out frame rates on supported hardware, while console players benefit from enlarged hitboxes aimed at improving hit detection on controller.
