Konami and developer No Code have shipped Patch 1.4.0 for SILENT HILL: Townfall, a mid-October update that softens some of the game’s harshest stealth encounters and closes out a handful of progression-breaking bugs. The patch went live October 8, 2026, with players asked to confirm they’re on build v1.5.154194 via the main menu.

The Weight Gets Less Punishing

The update’s biggest change targets The Weight, the game’s recurring stalker enemy. On Story Mode and Normal difficulty, its grab attack now deals heavy damage instead of killing outright, giving players a chance to survive a mistake that previously ended the run on the spot. No Code also retuned The Weight’s AI so it stops camping directly in front of objectives and searching the same spot repeatedly, and its general hunting behavior now tracks players less aggressively.

Enemies and Puzzles

Regular enemies were adjusted too — they’re less sensitive to gunfire, running footsteps, and players slipping into hiding spots, they counterattack less often after a successful melee hit, and grapple attempts against a player actively blocking with a melee weapon have been removed entirely outside of The Weight. Players also get more reaction time after breaking free of a grapple. On the puzzle side, the “Remote Systems Control” console now has a collectible manual you can view while operating it, and the pipe layout in the Aux Line puzzle was clarified after it tripped up a lot of players.

Fixes and Availability

Two notable progress blockers are fixed: a glass obstruction in Part 5 that could stop players from reaching the CEG Tower, and a bug where Projector Slides could display duplicate names. No Code also patched several out-of-bounds exploits that could break the game’s scripted sequences, fixed a hidden Letterbox option on ultrawide monitors, added missing AZERTY key bindings, and improved frame pacing to cut down on streaming stutter. The changes are live now on PC; console players will get them in a follow-up update. Silent Hill: Townfall is available on Steam, and if the patch has you in the mood for the series, Silent Hill 2 is discounted right now too — both are easy to grab with a Steam Wallet Code, and PlayStation Network credit covers the PS5 version.
