The Magus Circle Launches Tomorrow, Turning Spell-Drawing Into a Bullet-Hell Roguelike

The Magus Circle launches on Steam tomorrow, September 24, 2026, bringing a spell-drawing twist to the bullet-hell roguelike genre. Its own tagline sums up the hook: “Magic is Art.” Instead of picking spells from a menu, players draw arcane sigils in real time and combine the resulting upgrades to survive against an endless wave of enemies called the Tide.

Draw Your Spells, Survive the Tide

Under the hood it is a fairly classic arena-survival roguelike — stack passive upgrades, out-scale increasingly dense enemy waves, run it back when a build falls apart — but the sigil-drawing spellcasting and a cast of recruitable mage companions give it a different feel from genre mainstays like Vampire Survivors. Between runs, players explore the Magus Mansion hub, unlock other mages’ abilities, and raise familiars, giving the loop a slower, more narrative-driven wrapper around the frantic combat.

The game ran a public demo during Steam Next Fest ahead of launch, and carries Action, Roguelike, Bullet Hell, and Roguelite tags on its store page.
