Warframe’s frame roster has grown to well over 60 options, and not all of them pull equal weight in the Steel Path, endurance runs, or everyday star chart farming. This tier list rounds up the frames worth prioritizing right now, based on how reliably they perform across solo play, squad content, and the game’s toughest modifiers.

Tier lists in Warframe shift slower than in most live-service games, since Digital Extremes rebalances individual frames rather than rotating a seasonal meta, so most of the names below have held their spot for several updates running.

S-Tier Frames

Mesa remains one of the best all-around damage dealers in the game. Her kit works in both close range and at a distance, and her abilities buff allies while disrupting enemy weapons, making her a safe pick for almost any mission type.

Saryn specializes in stacking status effects, corrosive, viral, and toxin, and her passive extends how long those effects linger, letting her clear rooms of enemies on a timer rather than a trigger pull.

Octavia leans on music-themed abilities, especially Resonator, to confuse and distract enemies while she and her squad work around them. Trinity is still the genre’s benchmark healer, providing direct healing and channeling enemy health into her allies. Nova uses antimatter manipulation to confuse enemies and summon seeking particles, with Worm Hole adding squad-wide mobility on top. Wisp rounds out the tier with portal-based evasion, Wil-O-Wisp decoys that confuse enemies, and Sol Gate for sustained solar damage.

A-Tier Frames

A step below the S-tier six, these frames are often near-perfect in the right hands. Ivara is an adept archer with tactical arrows and a stealth-enabling cloak bubble. Inaros trades finesse for raw survivability, dealing damage, stealing health, and blinding enemies with Desiccation. Chroma cycles through elemental buffs, heat, electricity, toxin, and cold, for flexible offense and defense. Khora hits hard with her whipclaw and Venari companion, and can revive herself mid-mission. Volt offers electricity-based offense and defense, stunning enemies and chaining shocks between targets. Gara cuts and blinds with glass armor while fortifying allies through Splinter Storm. Wukong controls crowds with his Celestial Twin and is one of the easiest frames in the game to obtain. Rhino charges through enemies for impact damage and shrugs off incoming hits with Iron Skin. Equinox switches between a damage-focused day form and a crowd-control night form depending on what the mission needs. Nidus inflicts infestation damage while controlling crowds and buffing nearby allies. Gauss rushes enemies for impact damage and absorbs elemental damage on the move. Nezha rounds out the tier with fire damage from Fire Walker and Blazing Chakram, backed by Warding Halo for defense.

Builds Worth Running

Whichever frame you settle on, a handful of mods carry over regardless of build: Serration and Point Strike, or their Primed variants, for weapon damage, Vitality and Redirection for survivability, and Streamline or Fleeting Expertise to keep ability costs manageable on energy-hungry kits like Octavia’s or Nova’s. Status-focused frames like Saryn lean harder into weapons with high status chance, since her kit rewards keeping procs active rather than maximizing raw crit damage.

Final Verdict

None of the frames above require event-locked grinding to acquire; most are available through the in-game market, Baro Ki’Teer, or standard farming, which is part of why they’ve held their tier for so long.
