Battlefield 6 is deep into Season 4, and the weapon meta has settled into a clearer picture after several balance passes since the Winter Offensive update. Here’s a full breakdown of the best guns in every weapon class right now, plus the attachments worth running on each.

Assault Rifles

S-Tier: KORD 6P67 sits alone at the top of the Assault Rifle class. Run it with a vertical grip, heavy barrel, lightweight ammunition, a suppressor, and a 2x scope for a rifle that controls recoil well at range while still hitting hard up close.

A-Tier: NVO-228E, AK4D, L85A3, SOR-556 MK2, VCR-2, B36A4, M433, M16A4, and the new Season 4 addition EF88 all sit a tier below, with the NVO-228E benefiting from a 485mm custom barrel, compensated brake, and FMJ ammo. C/D-Tier: TR-7 lags behind the rest of the class.

Carbines & SMGs

Carbines: SG 553R and M4A1 share the S-Tier spot, backed up by QBZ-192, SOR-300SC, and the Season 4 carbine BROD 3 in A-Tier. M277 sits in B, and AK-205 brings up the rear.

SMGs: PW5A3 is the clear S-Tier pick — just a suppressor and extended magazine turn it into one of the best close-range weapons in the game. SCW-10, SGX, and UMG-40 round out A-Tier, with PW7A2 and SL9 in B (note that the PW7A2’s 40-round magazine is an attachment, not its base capacity). USG-90 is the weakest SMG right now.

LMGs & DMRs

LMGs: DRS-IAR, KTS100 MK8, and RPK-74M all rank S-Tier. The DRS-IAR runs best with an extended barrel, suppressor, thermal scope, and vertical grip, while KTS100 MK8 wants a suppressor, vertical grip, and extended barrel — pick the Support class on either for the ADS speed bonus. L110 is a strong A-Tier pick with a compensated brake, 465mm LB barrel, stubby underbarrel, FMJ ammo, and a 4.00x PVQ-31 scope.

DMRs: SVDM is the best DMR in the game, built with a lightened suppressor, 620mm classic barrel, 20-round magazine, match grade ammo, and a 4.00x PVQ-31 scope. M39 EMR sits in A-Tier (its headshot multiplier is unconfirmed), and SVK-8.6 rounds out B-Tier.

Sniper Rifles, Shotguns & Sidearms

Sniper Rifles: M2010 ESR is the top pick once you’ve ranked up its ADS bolt, paired with an 8x scope. PSR and SV-98 are solid A-Tier alternatives.

Shotguns: M87A1 leads the class in S-Tier, with M1014 close behind in A-Tier when loaded with slug ammo and the 4-shell tube.

Sidearms: M44 and M357 share the top sidearm spot, with ES 5.7 in A-Tier, P18 in B, and M45A1 bringing up the rear.

Season 4 Changes and the RedSec Caveat

Season 4 added the EF88 (AR), BROD 3 (carbine), and a new DMR to the pool, and their placements are still the least settled rankings on this list — expect some movement as more data comes in. It’s also worth noting that RedSec, Battlefield 6’s free-to-play battle royale mode on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, favors longer engagement ranges than core multiplayer, so close-range SMGs that dominate in Conquest and Breakthrough can underperform there.

The meta will keep shifting with each patch, so bookmark this page and check back after balance updates. Battlefield 6 is available now on Steam.
