Dead by Daylight is about to add its first licensed slasher pulled straight from the Terrifier film series. Behaviour Interactive confirmed during its October 1 “October of Horror” broadcast, part of the game’s 10th-anniversary celebrations, that Art the Clown is joining the Fog as a playable Killer, with a public test build opening on October 27, 2026.

Who Is Art the Clown?

Art the Clown is the silent, improvisational killer at the center of Damien Leone’s Terrifier films, known for using whatever is lying around a kill room rather than a signature weapon. He joins a licensed roster that already includes Ghost Face, Pinhead, the Resident Evil cast, and the Stranger Things crossover, continuing Behaviour’s push to bring recognizable horror icons into the asymmetrical multiplayer game. The Terrifier Chapter marks one of the biggest licensed reveals of Dead by Daylight’s anniversary year.

When the Chapter Arrives

The PTB (Public Test Build) starts October 27, 2026, giving players early access to try Art the Clown’s kit before anything is finalized. Behaviour has only officially committed to a “November 2026” window for the full chapter release, and outlets covering the reveal disagree on the exact day, so treat any specific November date as unconfirmed until Behaviour locks it in. The chapter is expected to ship as a paid DLC alongside a new Survivor, following Dead by Daylight’s usual chapter format.

What We Still Don't Know

Behaviour hasn’t detailed Art’s power, his perks, or the rest of the chapter’s contents yet — all of that is “subject to change” once PTB testing begins and players start finding exploits or balance issues. Pricing for the chapter also hasn’t been announced. Expect patch notes and a full breakdown once the PTB client goes live on the 27th.
