Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition Launches October 13 With Every DLC and a Visual Overhaul

Creative Assembly and SEGA are giving one of the most beloved entries in the Total War series a proper modern re-release. Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Complete Edition launches October 13, 2026 on Steam, bundling the base game with every piece of DLC — including the acclaimed Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai campaigns — into a single updated package.
All the DLC, One Package
The Complete Edition rolls the original 2011 strategy classic together with its expansions and content packs into one purchase, so new players no longer have to piece together a decade of DLC to get the full Shogun 2 experience. It is being developed under the MATABOO label in partnership with Creative Assembly and SEGA.
Visual Overhaul and Price
Beyond the DLC bundling, the Complete Edition adds improved lighting, shadows, textures, and general visual polish, plus proper 1440p and 4K UI scaling for modern monitors — something the decade-old original never supported well. It’s priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99. Anyone who already owns the original Shogun 2 on Steam gets a 75% discount on the upgrade until November 12, and buying the Complete Edition also grants the original base game. A GOG release is planned too, though no storefront listing was live at announcement.
Shogun 2 remains one of the most tactically dense entries in the Total War series, and this re-release is a good entry point if you skipped it the first time around.
