Elden Ring Nightreign Gets Its First Update in Months, a Security and Stability Hotfix

On September 18, FromSoftware pushed out Elden Ring Nightreign Update 1.23 on PS4 (1.003.004 on PS5) — the first update the game had received in several months. FromSoftware’s stated purpose was narrow: ‘to deploy a hotfix to improve security & network stability’ on PlayStation servers. No balance changes and no additional content shipped alongside it.

Months of Silence, and What It Means for Nightreign's Future

That quiet, utilitarian framing is itself the story. Nightreign launched to strong numbers, at one point drawing more concurrent Steam players than the entire original Dark Souls trilogy combined, and FromSoftware has said almost nothing publicly about the game’s future since. No expansion, roadmap, or next content drop has been confirmed, leaving a community that clearly still shows up each session waiting on official word.

Where to Get Nightreign Right Now

For now, a server-stability patch is at least a sign Nightreign’s infrastructure is still being actively maintained. Players picking it up for the first time, or adding it to a Steam library already stacked with other FromSoftware titles, can grab it directly from Dragon4Deals’ Elden Ring Nightreign PC key or fund it through a Steam Wallet Code (Global); console players can use a PSN Gift Card (US). The game’s official listing is on Steam.
