Bethesda took Fallout 76 offline across all platforms on October 1, 2026 to roll out Update 2.30, breaking from the game’s usual Tuesday maintenance schedule in favor of a Thursday downtime window.

What Update 2.30 Fixes

Maintenance began at 10 a.m. ET / 7 a.m. PT, with Bethesda warning players to expect 3 to 5 hours of downtime while the update rolled out server-side. The headline fix in 2.30 addresses certain unique weapon skins that couldn’t be equipped after being earned — a bug that had been frustrating players who’d grinded for the cosmetics only to find them stuck in their inventory. Bethesda noted the fix doesn’t cover every affected skin, so some may still need another pass.

What's Still Broken

Not everything made it into this patch. The long-running jetpack glitch remains unresolved, though Bethesda says it’s aware of the issue. Certain Atom Shop outfits that can’t be crafted also weren’t addressed in 2.30, but the team says a fix for those is planned for an upcoming update.

Fallout 76 continues to get steady post-launch support six years after release, and Appalachia is still one of the more affordable ways to spend time in Bethesda’s wasteland. Fallout 76 is available on Steam, and you can grab Steam Wallet Code (US) credit to stock up on Atoms once the Atom Shop fixes land.
