Marvel Rivals is deep into Season 9.5, "The Mystery of Thebes," and while this week’s patch is light on balance changes, there’s still a new hero to learn and a stacked cosmetic lineup worth knowing about before it rotates out.
The Hood Joins the Roster
Season 9.5 kicked off August 7 with the addition of The Hood, a new Vanguard-class character who arrived alongside the season’s launch. With no balance patches shipped this week — NetEase’s own notes point out the roster just went through significant changes in the prior 9.5 update — The Hood is currently the newest variable in team comps, so expect matchup data to still be shaking out.
This Week's Cosmetic Bundles
The August 13 patch shipped with zero server downtime and two notable bundles: the Storm "Sacred Skies" bundle, available now through September 11, and a limited-time return of the Loki "Lady Loki" bundle, available only through August 28. If you’ve been holding out for Lady Loki specifically, that’s a tight window.
What's Next
Season 10 is expected around September 11, which should bring the next real balance pass. In the meantime, Marvel Rivals remains free-to-play, so most of what you’ll spend on is cosmetics and the battle pass.
