Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 11 Brings Solid Snake and a Metal Gear Solid Crossover to Operation Silent Hunt

Ubisoft used the Six Invitational to reveal Year 11 of Rainbow Six Siege, headlined by Season One, Operation Silent Hunt, and a genuine surprise: a permanent Metal Gear Solid crossover operator.
Solid Snake joins the Attacker roster
Solid Snake arrives as a new permanent Attacker, pulled directly from Konami’s Metal Gear Solid series. His secondary weapon is the TACIT .45, described as a semi-automatic pistol with an integrated suppressor built for covert operations, paired with an intel-gathering gadget Ubisoft says has never been seen before in Siege. Ubisoft frames him as a blend of stealth, agility, and tactical intelligence, offering recon value for attacking teams rather than raw firepower — a natural fit alongside the existing Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater content already on Steam.
Player Protection and ranked changes
Beyond the new operator, Year 11’s stated priorities center on a Player Protection initiative covering account security and tighter enforcement against cheating, boosting, smurfing, and toxicity, backed by further R6 ShieldGuard anti-cheat improvements. Ubisoft also confirmed updates to Ranked and a new competitive mode as part of the same season, continuing the trend of each Siege year leaning harder into match integrity alongside new content.
If the crossover has you itching to revisit Snake’s other outing on Steam, METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is worth a look, and a Steam Wallet Code (EU) or Steam Wallet Code (Global) code covers both that and whatever Siege picks up in the Operation Silent Hunt store.
