The Blood of Dawnwalker Is Out Now — Witcher Veterans’ Vampire RPG Nears 2,000 Reviews in Hours
A Vampire RPG From Witcher Veterans
Rebel Wolves — a studio founded by CD Projekt Red veterans — and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment launched The Blood of Dawnwalker on September 2-3, 2026. Set in a dark-fantasy world and starring vampire protagonist Coen, the studio’s debut game drew immediate comparisons to The Witcher 3 and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines from the moment reviews started rolling in.

Mostly Positive, With Some Rough Edges
Nearly 2,000 Steam reviews landed within about 11 hours of launch, settling the game at a “Mostly Positive” rating. Roughly 58% of its Steam player base has also played The Witcher 3, underlining the crossover pull Rebel Wolves was clearly chasing. Reviewers praised the atmosphere, score, story, and characters, while flagging combat execution and optimization bugs — one review called it “the most Witcher-not-Witcher game I’ve ever played.”
