WARDOGS Tops 2 Million Copies Sold as Bulkhead’s Early Access Shooter Launches Season 2

WARDOGS, the large-scale military shooter from developer Bulkhead, entered Steam Early Access in September 2026 and has already sold more than two million copies, peaking at over 400,000 concurrent players. Season 2 arrived on October 15, 2026, keeping the momentum going for one of the year’s biggest Early Access breakouts.
Season 2 goes live
Season 2 brings back features that were cut from WARDOGS’ original Early Access launch, along with changes shaped directly by player feedback from Season 1. Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said he’d already played the Season 2 build ahead of release and called both the upcoming Season 2 and Season 3 content “sick.”
Don’t expect huge new maps, vehicles, or weapon types just yet, though — Bulkhead has been clear that it’s holding that kind of content back during Early Access, instead focusing this season on polishing systems that were already in the game.
What is WARDOGS?
WARDOGS is a first-person shooter built around tactical gunplay, combined-arms warfare, and building and destruction mechanics inside large military sandboxes supporting up to 100 players per match. It plays closer to a slower, more methodical Battlefield-style experience than a battle royale or extraction shooter, and its early success suggests there’s still a sizeable audience hungry for that kind of large-scale, grounded warfare.
