Warframe: Iceblade of Narin Update Launches September 23 With a New Frame and the Glacial Defiance Mode
Digital Extremes is rolling out the Iceblade of Narin update for Warframe on September 23, and it is a bigger drop than the name suggests: a new Warframe, a new social hub, a new co-op mode, and the first steps toward the game’s next major story chapter. The update is free across PC, console, and mobile.
New Warframe: Narin
The headline addition is Narin, a new Warframe built around cold-based precision. She wields a Nunchasa bow alongside a pair of dual ice pistols called Aksondol, described by the studio as letting her “unleash a hail of cold with precision and fluidity.” Expect her kit to lean into ranged crowd control rather than pure burst damage, based on the weapon pairing alone.
New Hub, Mode, and Enemies
Alongside Narin, the update adds the Yuvan Peak Relay Hub, a new social space that the studio says reveals “a previously hidden side of the Earth.” There is also Glacial Defiance, a new 6-player cooperative mode, and a fresh threat in the form of Entropic Eximus enemies spawning in Melica’s Labroom. Players chasing cosmetics can also pick up Citrine Prime Access, available the same day as the update.
What Comes Next: Epoch Operation Taubound
Iceblade of Narin is also a setup for something bigger. On October 15, the limited-time community event Epoch Operation: Taubound begins, tasking players with collecting Moonflesh resources to push progress toward the Tau Star System. It serves as a prelude to Warframe: Tau, the next major narrative chapter teased at this year’s TennoCon. New players can join in by completing introductory quests, though some of the event’s rewards will require specific quest completions first.
