Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Best Loadouts (Meta Weapons Guide): Kogot-7, MXR-17, and Shadow SK Lead the Tier List

The current Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 meta has settled into a clear pecking order, and if you are tired of losing gunfights to attachments you have not tried yet, this is the loadout guide to fix that. Below are the current S-Tier and A-Tier weapons, plus full attachment builds for the three guns most worth unlocking first: the Kogot-7, the MXR-17, and the Shadow SK.

Current S-Tier and A-Tier Weapons

S-Tier right now is: Hawker HX (Sniper Rifle), Kogot-7 (SMG), Sturmwolf 45 (SMG), Swordfish A1 (Marksman Rifle), and FG42 (Assault Rifle). A-Tier includes the AN-94, Dravec 45, DS20 Mirage, M15 MOD 0, MXR-17, Ryden 45K, and Shadow SK. If a gun is not on either list, it is still usable, but these are the weapons winning gunfights consistently in ranked play right now.

Best Kogot-7 Loadout (S-Tier SMG)

The Kogot-7 is the best close-range SMG in the game at the moment. Run a Hawker Series 45 muzzle, a 13.5″ Canis-05 barrel, an EAM Steady-90 grip, a Fortune Extended Mag, and the Buffer Spring fire mod. For perks, take increased movement speed and reduced weapon motion during jumps, so you can slide and jump-shoot without losing accuracy. Pair the build with Semtex for lethals and a Stim Shot tactical, and play it as an aggressive flank weapon rather than holding angles.

Best MXR-17 Loadout (A-Tier Assault Rifle)

The MXR-17 is the pick if you want assault rifle range without giving up mobility. Build it with a Redwell-90 Compensator muzzle, an 18″ Rift-M7 barrel, a Lateral Precision Grip, a Winch Stock, and a Recoil Sync Unit. This setup prioritizes stability and range engagement over hipfire speed, so lean on movement perks to stay mobile and bring a Drone Pod field upgrade for extra map information on contested objectives.

Best Shadow SK Loadout (A-Tier Sniper Rifle)

The Shadow SK is currently the more forgiving of the two A-Tier snipers because it rewards positioning over pure reaction speed. Use an Eclipse 7.62 brake, a 17″ Thrust barrel, a Rapid Gulf Fast Mag II, and a Parapet Riser. Run the Ghost perk so you stay off enemy UAVs while repositioning, and bring a Trophy System field upgrade to shut down incoming lethals while you hold an angle.

When to Use Each Loadout

All three of these loadouts are strong, but they are not interchangeable. Lean on the Kogot-7 on tighter, indoor-heavy maps and in objective modes like Hardpoint where fights happen at close range and you need to win first-contact duels. Switch to the MXR-17 on mid-sized maps or in Domination, where you need to hold a flag from range without giving up the ability to reposition quickly. Save the Shadow SK for the largest maps and slower modes like Search and Destroy, where a single well-placed shot from a good angle is worth more than a fast time-to-kill up close. Building all three into your loadout rotation, rather than sticking to one gun all game, is the fastest way to climb out of a loadout rut in the current meta.
