Control Resonant, Remedy Entertainment follow-up to 2019 Control, launched on September 24, 2026, sending protagonist Dylan Faden into a warped, supernatural version of Manhattan. It arrived on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S the same day.

Reviews: Gorgeous Atmosphere, Criticism for Tanky Combat

Early reviews are split between praise for the presentation and frustration with the combat pacing. PC Gamer critic Lincoln Carpenter praised the game gorgeously surreal atmosphere, but criticized the combat system for creating what he called a slog of inflated health pools, pointing to enemies that soaked up far too many hits before going down.

Remedy Shipped a Combat Hotfix on Launch Day

Remedy responded fast: hotfix 1.3.3 shipped on launch day itself, tackling three specific complaints the studio said it had already heard loud and clear, enemy health pools feeling too high, too many hits required to Falter enemies for an execution, and Dylan overall combat strength early in the game not feeling powerful enough. The fix effectively made default the exact workarounds reviewers had been recommending through the game own Assist Mode sliders, so players no longer have to dig into a menu to get a smoother early game. Carpenter noted the awkward timing himself, since the patch landed right as his review criticizing that exact issue went live, though he acknowledged it should meaningfully improve the experience for everyone else picking the game up now.

Where to Buy and Play

Control Resonant is available now across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Steam Wallet Code (US) or a Steam Wallet Code (EU) covers the PC version through Steam, and a PSN Gift Card (US) works for the PlayStation 5 release. Store details and system requirements are on the official Control Resonant Steam page.
