Deadlock Adds Nurse Harrow and Five Other Heroes After a Record-Breaking Community Vote
Valve’s hero shooter Deadlock just picked up six new heroes at once, and the headline addition is Nurse Harrow, a support hero described by the development team as someone who gets results through “some unorthodox methods.” Harrow’s arrival caps off the City Never Sleeps community hero vote, and her story is an odd one: she actually finished last place in the vote with 22,194 votes, including one especially dedicated player who cast exactly 1,000 ballots in her favor. Valve brought her into the game anyway, alongside five other new heroes including the suitably strange Rat King.
Still Invite-Only, Still Breaking Records
What makes the update notable is the game Deadlock still technically isn’t: the Steam store page for Deadlock still lists it as “in early development” with a release date of “to be announced,” and access remains limited to friend invites from existing playtesters. That hasn’t stopped the game from putting up real numbers — on October 10, 2026, Deadlock surpassed Team Fortress 2’s all-time concurrent player count peak, a genuinely remarkable feat for a title that still requires an invite to even launch.
Valve has been candid that Deadlock is “still too unfinished to release publicly,” but confirmed that hero cosmetics and new game modes are already in the works for future updates. For a MOBA-shooter hybrid that has spent well over a year in closed testing, growing the roster while quietly setting player-count records is a strong sign the eventual public release is worth watching for.
Why Dragon4Deals Players Should Care
Deadlock is a Valve game through and through, which means whenever it does go wide, it will live on Steam like the rest of Valve’s hero-based output. If you’re topping up for Deadlock, Counter-Strike 2, or anything else in your Steam library ahead of launch, a Steam Wallet Code (US) or a code from our full Steam Wallet Code lineup is the easiest way to load up your account balance without reaching for a card. We also stock a Global Steam Wallet Code for players outside the usual regional options.
