Destiny 2: Renegades Weapon Tier List: The Best Guns to Chase Right Now

Destiny 2: Renegades has scrambled the weapon meta all over again. With a fresh crop of Arc, Strand, and Stasis weapons flooding the loot pool, Guardians heading into this expansion need to know which guns are actually worth chasing versus which ones are just filling vault space. We pulled together the current community-tested tier list so you can prioritize your farming right out of the gate. If you are picking the expansion up for the first time, grab it on the official Destiny 2 Steam store page, then top up with a Steam Wallet code to jump straight into the new activities on PC.

S-Tier: Chase These First

The S-tier list is dominated by weapons that either solve a specific problem better than anything else in the game or combine perks into something genuinely busted. Bitter End, the new Arc 900 RPM Blaster LMG, leads the pack thanks to its Balanced Heat frame and access to Trickle Charge, One for All, Frenzy, and Rolling Storm or Jolt — it is one of the few heavy weapons that can both clear ads and contribute real damage in boss phases. Peculiar Charm, a 600 RPM burst SMG with Attrition Orbs, Kinetic Tremors, and Allstar, is just as strong in general PvE content thanks to its four-round bursts chewing through shields fast. On the PvP side, Uncivil Discourse (Arc 180 RPM special hand cannon) posted 91 headshot damage in early testing with Precision Instrument and Delicate Tuning rolled together, which is enough to threaten two-tap kills in the right matchups.

Exotic-wise, the Praxic Blade stands out as one of the most unique weapons Bungie has shipped in years — its guard mechanic actually reflects incoming projectiles back at whoever fired them, turning a defensive tool into an offensive one. Round out the S-tier with All or Nothing (Strand 540 RPM Blaster pulse rifle with its own Heat mechanic, Firefly, Hatchling, Thermal Atomization), the M-17 Fast Talker (Stasis 900 RPM Blaster SMG running Kill Clip, Target Lock, Master of Arms, Demolitionist), and Conspiracy Honed (a Stasis 140 RPM Blaster sniper with Vorpal Weapon, Firefly, Lone Wolf, Snapshot, and Opening Shot) — all genuinely best-in-slot for their archetypes right now.

A-Tier: Still Excellent

A-tier is where most of your loadout will actually live day to day. The Heirloom exotic bolt weapon punches explosive rounds that are especially good against Unstoppable Champions, while the Sullen Claw (Void lightweight sword) pairs Eager Edge with Assassin’s Blade for fast mobility plays. Corundum Hammer, a Strand Adaptive 140 RPM Trials hand cannon, and Cataphract GL3 with Auto-Loading Holster and Bait and Switch are both excellent if you can’t pull an S-tier drop. The exotic Strand LMG Service of Luzaku deserves a special mention for support-minded Guardians — it heals allies, refills their ammo, and spawns Threadlings on kills, making it one of the better picks for harder endgame content where survivability matters as much as damage. Horror’s Least and The Immortal round out a very deep A-tier for pulse rifle and SMG fans respectively.

B-Tier: Reliable But Outclassed

B-tier weapons are not bad — they are simply outclassed by the options above. The Oxygen SR3 precision scout rifle, Zealous Ideal auto rifle, and Hawthorne’s Field-Forged Shotgun (running Chill Clip) are all perfectly serviceable for lower-difficulty content, and The Martlet is a fine Trials pulse rifle if you haven’t unlocked anything better yet. Keep these in your vault as backups while you farm toward the S- and A-tier rolls above; expect some reshuffling once Bungie ships its first post-launch balance pass. For now, these picks will get you through everything short of the hardest Renegades content.

As always, these rankings reflect ongoing community testing and will shift with future balance patches — check back as Bungie tunes Renegades further. And if Renegades has you itching to dive back in on console, a Steam Wallet Code (US) or the right regional gift card makes grabbing the expansion’s premium content a lot easier.
