Bungie rolled out Marathon Update 1.1.9.2 (console build 1.033) on October 6, 2026, followed two days later by a 1.1.9.3 hotfix after an October 8 server outage. It is the extraction shooter’s biggest weapon balance pass since launch, touching nearly every gun in the Runner’s arsenal, refreshing the Cryo Archive Vaults, and kicking off a run of time-limited events.

Weapon balance: winners and losers

The Repeater HPR comes out the biggest winner. Its fire rate climbs from 85 to 90 RPM, base magazine size grows from 9 to 12 rounds, and its empty reload drops from 6.84 to 5.2 seconds while now reloading two rounds at a time. Both its base and max falloff ranges were pushed out considerably, and its hipfire error cone was tightened by roughly 47-54%, making it a far more forgiving mid-range option.

The Hardline PR went the other way: its effective range was slashed (base falloff end dropping from 150m to 62.4m, max falloff end from 195m to 120m) in exchange for much lower recoil, tighter hipfire spread, and a redesigned recoil pattern, repositioning it as a close-range skirmisher rather than a mid-range rifle. The Biotoxic Disinjector’s grenade launcher mode was converted from a three-round full-auto volley to semi-automatic fire, while its beam mode’s damage climbed from 13 to 16 per tick, cutting the 200HP time-to-kill from 0.92 to 0.75 seconds.

On the sidearm front, the D54 Battle Pistol’s base damage drops from 16 to 14, and the hidden 15% damage bonus on its Daredevil Prestige mod was removed, closing an exploit that let a fully modded super burst one-shot blue, purple, or even gold shields. The Magnum MC was hit with a similar nerf, down from 41 to 35 base damage, pushing its optimal time-to-kill from 0.87 to 1.3 seconds. The KKV-9SD got a quieter but meaningful buff: base damage rose from 9 to 10.5, and the number of precision hits needed to reach its 0.85-second optimal kill time dropped from 15 to 11.

Cryo Archive refresh and new events

Bungie also updated the unique weapon distribution across Cryo Archive Vaults 1 through 6, so Runners farming specific rolls will want to re-scout their usual routes. Two back-to-back events follow the patch: Vault Breaker (October 20 to November 9) cuts armory stock across the board while giving solo players 50% more Tier 1 and 2 event currency, and Ordnance Heist (November 10 to 23) trims MIDA and Traxus armory stock and rarity while boosting Firestorm key drop rates to 15% during the event and 30% after it ends. A Nightfall Refresh also reset Runner, Cradle, and Faction progression for everyone, and daily C.A.R.R.I. login rewards are back with new accumulating bonuses.

Economy changes round out the patch: Cradle XP is up 30%, most Armory credit costs are down 30%, and barter salvage costs are cut 20-50% depending on the item. With the meta shifting and new Vault loot to chase, now’s a good time to top up your wallet before the next Vault Breaker rotation — grab a Steam Wallet Code (US) or Steam Wallet Code (Global) code, and check our Extraction Guides for loadout advice built around the new numbers.
