Planet Zoo 2 Is Out Now, Adding Aviaries, Aquariums, and a Deeper Conservation Focus

Frontier Developments’ Planet Zoo 2 launched October 13, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, expanding the zoo management formula with new habitat types and a sharper focus on conservation.
New Habitats, New Animals
The sequel introduces aviaries and aquariums alongside the traditional land enclosures, giving zoos room for new residents like the Snow Leopard and the Javanese Cownose Ray. Frontier has added a dozen new species across two recent announcements, plus deeper systems for guest flow, staff management, and habitat design that go well beyond what the original Planet Zoo offered.
A Smooth Launch Day
PC players had Steam preloading available ahead of the October 13 unlock, and Frontier used an extended, roughly 35-minute gameplay presentation to walk through the new conservation-driven systems before launch.
