Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Resonance, the series’ first HD-2D game, launches October 22, 2026 on PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2.

A Brave Exvius Rebuild, Not a Port

Rather than a straight port, Resonance is a ground-up console rebuild of the mobile RPG Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, rebuilt around a strategic turn-based battle system with a modern twist. Chocobos, espers, and airships all make the trip, and the story draws on Brave Exvius’s first arc, with Cloud, Tidus, and the Warrior of Light appearing as guest characters alongside the new cast.

Editions, Pricing, and Platform Support

Three editions are available at launch: the $49.99 standard edition, a $59.99 Digital Deluxe Edition with bonus in-game items, and a $209.99 Collector’s Edition that adds an artbook, soundtrack, and a Final Fantasy Trading Card Game promo card. On PC, the game has already picked up Steam Deck Verified and Steam Machine/SteamOS verified badges ahead of release.
