The Street Fighter 6 cast has settled into a clear pecking order heading into the next balance pass, with a patch landing October 13, 2026 still being folded into the community consensus. Here’s how the current tier list shapes up, based on tournament results and community grading from RankedBoost, plus why each character lands where it does. You can check the current build and player counts on the official Street Fighter 6 Steam store page, or dig into frame data on the official Street Fighter 6 website.

S-Tier: JP, Sagat, and Ed

JP. A pure zoner with teleports, traps, and some of the best neutral control in the game — JP doesn’t have an OD reversal, but his space control is strong enough that he doesn’t need one to stay on top.

Sagat. The classic charge zoner. Tiger Shot pressure from full screen, a dominant anti-air in Tiger Uppercut, and the range to keep almost the entire cast locked out of their own offense.

Ed. The most aggressive of the three, using Psycho Power to close distance fast and force 50/50 mix-ups once he’s in. His OD reversal gives him a scramble option the other two S-tier picks lack.

A-Tier: Guile, Cammy, Terry, and the Rest of the Contenders

Just behind the top three sits a deep A-tier: Guile (charge zoning with Sonic Boom and Flash Kick), Cammy (relentless rushdown pressure and mix-ups), Terry Bogard (a zoning-rushdown hybrid guest character with excellent normals), Mai Shiranui (fan-based zoning), M. Bison (a charge all-rounder with strong damage), Rashid (mobility-heavy pressure), Luke and Ryu (beginner-friendly all-rounders who scale well with skill), Ken (fast rushdown), and Zangief, the lone grappler in A-tier, who compensates for a lack of ranged tools with the highest health total in the game.

Where Everyone Else Lands

B-tier is where the technical, higher-skill-ceiling characters live: Chun-Li, Juri, Akuma, Kimberly, Elena, Dee Jay, Jamie, and Alex all have tools to compete but ask more of the player to get there. C-tier — Dhalsim, Manon, E. Honda, Lily, Marisa, A.K.I., and Ingrid — tends to be more situational or reliant on specific match-ups. None of this is set in stone: Capcom’s October patch is still being digested by the competitive scene, and tier placements inside each letter grade shift constantly as players find new tech.
