Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Revealed at Tokyo Game Show With a Floating Sky Realm and the New Boost Bracer

Capcom used its Tokyo Game Show 2026 stage to confirm Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the first full expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, arriving in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The reveal trailer leaned hard into spectacle, sending hunters somewhere the base game never went: straight up.

A Sky Realm Above the Forbidden Lands

Ascendance’s new locale, the Skybound Eyrie, is a cluster of floating, ruin-adorned islands suspended above the Forbidden Lands. Capcom says hunters will move between islands using Seikret mounts and new gliding mechanics, turning traversal itself into part of the hunt instead of just a way to get from camp to monster.

The Boost Bracer Rewrites Every Weapon's Combat

The headline mechanical addition is the Boost Bracer, a new equipment piece Capcom describes as adding “exhilarating new attacks, combos, and mobility options” across all 14 weapon types. Rather than introducing a 15th weapon, Ascendance is aiming to refresh the moveset of everything hunters already own \xe2\x80\x94 good news for anyone with a main weapon they don’t want to abandon for an expansion.

Kushala Daora Returns, and Something New Circles Overhead

Elder Dragons are back in force, with Kushala Daora confirmed as a returning threat. Capcom has also teased a new monster pack built around “devastating aerial coordination,” strongly hinting that fights above the clouds will play very differently from anything in the base campaign. The expansion’s story content unlocks after the 7-star quest “Awakening from a Dream,” gating Ascendance behind meaningful base-game progress, with Master Rank difficulty scaling up from there.

What It Means for Hunters

No firm release date or price has been announced beyond a 2027 window, but the confirmation alone should keep Monster Hunter Wilds’ current player base invested through the rest of the year.
