THE FINALS’ Halloween Update 12.1.0 Brings Fog, a Nerfed Translocator, and the Frights Galore Finale
Embark Studios shipped Update 12.1.0 for THE FINALS on October 29, 2026, and it leans all the way into Halloween. The “BOO!” update rolls fog into the Arena map, adds new tricks and cosmetics, and tweaks a handful of gadgets and weapons, all while the Frights Galore seasonal event heads into its final week of tickets.
Gadget and weapon balance
- The Translocator‘s max range has been cut from 70 meters down to 50 meters.
- CB-01 Repeater damage drops from 88 to 85.
- Pike-556 headshot multiplier is reduced from 1.75x to 1.5x.
None of the changes are drastic on their own, but together they nudge the meta slightly away from long-range repositioning and headshot-reliant builds.
UI and quality-of-life changes
Shotgun pellet hit markers now last half as long as before — down from one second to half a second — and players can now toggle them off entirely in the settings menu. A new option also lets you disable the HUD glow effect if you find it distracting in fast fights.
Map fixes and bug squashing
Embark patched up curtains in Monaco and Skyway Stadium that could previously block movement, and adjusted lighting and fog across Las Vegas Stadium, Seoul, Monaco, and Skyway Stadium. On the bug-fix side: the Mimic Device’s shadow glitch is gone, an invisible collision issue has been removed, a dash-momentum exploit is fixed, Cashout Stations and the Grand Vault no longer let players pass through them unintentionally, the Tracking Dart can no longer fire after its ammo runs out, daily and weekly Contracts now progress correctly in Cashout (Bots), and a map-loading freeze affecting PS5 and Xbox has been resolved.
Embark also reminded players that third-party gyro aim software isn’t officially supported and could put your account at risk of a ban.
