ARC Raiders is getting the biggest content drop since launch on October 8, 2026, when the Frozen Trail update lands with a new frontier region, three previously unseen ARC machine types, and a reworked skill tree. Embark Studios is also confirming a bigger structural change: the extraction shooter is moving from monthly content drips to twice-yearly major updates, with Frozen Trail as the first.

If you want to see the new region for yourself, ARC Raiders is available now on Steam, and a PC Steam Wallet Code covers the cost of buying in or picking up cosmetics from the new update.

The Largest Map Yet: A New Rust Belt Frontier

Frozen Trail’s headline feature is what Embark is calling the largest map in the game so far: a new Rust Belt frontier region built around fresh end-game goals for raiders who have already maxed out their Raider Den and skill points. The update leans into an ARC-origin storyline thread as well, teasing answers to “what are ARC and where do they come from” for players who stick around for the lore.

It is a deliberate shift away from the small biweekly content drops ARC Raiders has run on since launch, toward fewer, denser updates that reshape how a run plays rather than just adding more loot tables.

New Machines to Fear: Bully, Skulker, and Hydra

Three new machine types are entering rotation as part of a new ARC operation: Bully, Skulker, and Hydra, each with what Embark describes as fresh designs and genuinely unique behaviors rather than recolored existing enemies. Expect raids in the new frontier to demand different positioning and sound discipline than the machines you have learned to read in Dam Battlegrounds or Stella Montis.

Skill Tree Rework and New Endgame Goals

The skill tree is also getting an overhaul, and Embark is candid that it will reshuffle the current meta: “a rework can turn today’s best build into tomorrow’s B-tier.” If you have a loadout you love, expect to revisit it once Frozen Trail goes live. New progression systems are arriving alongside it specifically for players who have run out of goals at max level, which has been one of the more common complaints from raiders who cleared end-game content early.

New Gear, and a Bigger Shift in How Updates Ship

Frozen Trail also adds new weapons, items, instruments, and cosmetics, though Embark has kept most of the specific names under wraps ahead of the October 8 launch. Combined with the enemy and map additions, it is the closest thing ARC Raiders has had to a full expansion since release.
