Capcom confirmed in a September 2026 Nintendo Direct that Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, bringing the full PC/PS5/Xbox experience — title updates included — to Nintendo’s new hardware.

What the Switch 2 Version Includes

Capcom says the Switch 2 release will ship with “all title updates” already applied, so there’s no catching up on patches after launch. It supports local multiplayer for up to four hunters, and — the bigger deal for anyone with friends on other platforms — full cross-platform play against hunters on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Capcom has clarified separately that cross-play is supported but cross-save between platforms is not, so progress won’t carry over if you’re switching hardware.

Pre-Order Pricing and What’s Next

Digital pre-orders opened October 19, 2026 at $29.99 and run through December 19, 2026. A physical Game-Key Card version is priced at $39.99 and bundles in a Deluxe Pack voucher. Capcom also confirmed a new expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, is coming to the Switch 2 version in 2027, alongside a Prologue Demo that will be available before the December launch.

If you’re hunting on PC right now, Dragon4Deals has Monster Hunter Wilds for PC and Monster Hunter Wilds on Xbox at a discount, and you can find the Steam listing directly at the official Steam store page.
